What they don’t tell you is how treacherous it is to travel over the lava flow.

The trail is pretty vague and it was rough getting there, but well worth it. It was the best snorkeling I have ever done. It was like swimming through a Finding Nemo movie.

The Aquarium
On the way we saw an octopus.

After I took a good trip snorkeling around the bay, Jodie had a turn. We tried to encourage Renea to snorkel to, but as we all know, she is a big chicken, so all she did was stand on the shore and stick her face in the water.
On the way back, poor Jodie fell and shredded her pants on the sharp lava rocks. Better her pants then her leg - although she was doing a pretty good job of cutting her legs too. We joked that she was attacked by a land shark.

Jodie, the sign says to stay on the trails.
When we finally made it back to the road, it felt strange to walk on flat ground without your ankles being twisted. We headed back to the hotel for band-aids and new pants.
Most of the afternoon was spent by the pool. For diner, we all headed over to Tommy Bahamas again.
